1Great care is put into every single Flying Dog Collar. Every element of collar construction, from the details of design andsewing to the fabrics and hardware we choose, has been tested and re-tested to bring you what we feel is one of the finest products on the market today.

WEBBING
To start with we use a strong but flexible polypropylene web substrate that is milled right here in the USA. We use a variety of colors so we can color match/coordinate to each design. We feel that our heavyweight poly webbing is the perfect weight for collars as is flexible enough to allow your dog to bend his head comfortably. Polypropylene has excellent UV protection, and it does not absorb water, giving it resistance to mildew and rot. It has low stretch, especially when wet. This webbing is also very strong you can rest assured it will stand up to the demands of any active dog.

TRIM
On top of the subsrate, we sew on the decorative fabric overlay trim. We hand cut all of our fabrics and turn in to double thickness to create the trim. This is a time consuming process as we strive to line up patterns and center designs to create the best looking collar we can produce. This process is very important to the overall look and quality of the collar.

HARDWARE
Our collars feature a very lightweight but extremely strong aluminum side release buckles with a curved, streamlined design. They are available in two finishes: polished mirror finish and a beautiful satin aluminum finish. Historicially, metal side release buckles have been cumbersome and heavy...but not our buckles. Very light weight but more than four times the strength of a nylon oir acetal buckle and impervious to corrosion. Lightweight. Strong. Fashionable. We also offer our collars in the Weinerlock® black plastic contoured side release buckle.

We use sleek and shiny nickel plated welded steel d-rings and nickel plated cast zinc adjustment slides on every Flying Dog collar. You will be getting the highest quality hardware we can find. Our slides are the more expensive wide mouth nickel plated slides that allow for easier adjustability. The d-rings we use are in perfect scale to our collars, not too heavy and clunky but not to light and flimsy looking. They are also welded for superior strength. We have searched tirelessly for the perfect hardware to finish off our collar designs.

STITCHING
We use a very strong heavy weight polyester thread and double triple stitch all stress points. Our thread is color  matched for each collar. We take great care in finishing the inside of the collars so that no thread rubs are left. We check and double check to make sure all stitch back tack points are flush and smooth. We also guarantee our stitching and, as unlikely as it is, should any stitching come loose, you can mail the collar back to us and we will repair it free of charge.

MACHING WASHING
All collars and leads can be safely machine washed. We suggest first removing all tags, and placing in a laundry bag or pillow case with the ends knotted. Machine wash on the delicate cycle, mild detergent, mild temps, and simply place on a towel and let air dry.
